15mm Polyethylene

  • The white polyethylene door is fast becoming a favoured alternative to the flexible door, as people switch to a rigid more robust door leaf.
  • An excellent way of dividing hygienic areas.
  • Made from 15mm polyethylene (similar to plastic chopping board material) the leaf can withstand regular trolley traffic.
  • Can be provided with additional 8mm polyethylene protection or stainless steel teardrop bumpers to move the impact point away from the hinge.
  • With stainless steel springs and shafts in the hinges they are suitable for wash-down areas and do not rust from the inside.
  • Flexible gasket is installed to the leading edge and hinge side of the door leaf to minimise air loss.
  • Available in single or double leaf, with a vision panel included as standard to comply with the latest health & safety regulations.
  • This door can be installed onto a clamp frame to suit the insulated panel thickness or onto a plate frame to suit blockwork or steel-framed openings.

The clear opening width is the size of the gap any persons/objects can pass through freely when the door is opened to its full potential (most doors will usually only open to a 90-degree angle).

The structural opening width and height is the size of the gap any persons/ objects can pass through freely when the door is opened fully. However, the effective clear opening width takes into consideration the ironmongery/hardware on your door.

When sizing up your door you should always measure the width and height from at least 3 different points within the aperture. Sometimes you may find your structural opening is not perfectly square. The width at the top and bottom may differ slightly, or the height may vary from one side to another. If this is the case, you should quote the smallest measurements. If there is a significant difference, please inform the sales team when requesting a quote. At Bluseal, we will take your structural opening size and remove the tolerance in house. When requesting a quotation from us, you must always state the structural opening size only and never take the tolerance off yourself.

When replacing an existing door, you must always request a quotation using the structural opening size only. You should never use the measurements of the existing door that is already installed as this is not an accurate and reliable measurement. If the previous door you are replacing is a Bluseal door, you can provide the serial number to our sales team who will be able to advise the previous sizing, you can locate this in the jamb of the door.
